ALUM CHINE PLAYGROUND
On the hottest day of the year so far, I painted a mural for the new adventure playground in Alum Chine, Bournemouth. The playground is inspired by ‘Treasure Island’ by Robert Louis Stevenson, who lived at ‘Skerryvore’ at the top of Alum Chine in the late 19th Century. My treasure map incorporated all the play equipment, along with an X to mark the spot where the treasure chest can be found. It was a lovely day to be beside the sea painting.

I was privileged to witness the day and to record the dance classes in the form of iPad drawings.

Katie Green is a double award-winning choreographer and I soon learnt why: she possesses the dual gift of artistic creativity coupled with a methodical and analytical mind. The company was working towards a dance piece that would be performed in caves around the country. It was fascinating to watch the dancers, steered by Katie's suggested themes for exploration, to create moving works of art which I endeavoured to capture through my drawing. It was a challenge to reproduce such quick movements on paper so I decided to use my [...]
SHARDS EXHIBITION AT THE BOURNEMOUTH INTERNATIONAL CENTRE
I am very pleased that my paintings have been selected for the group show at the BIC in August. This year the themed section is entitled "The Human Form" and I have created two works for this: "Alba", illustrating a heart-opening yoga pose, and "Being There". The final painting is a seascape of my view from my current studio.
